Floor Care
To maintain the beauty of your wood floor, follow these steps:
- To prevent dirt and debris from being tracked onto your wood floor,
use throw rugs at doorways. This will help prevent scratching.
- Wipe up spills immediately with a slightly dampened towel.
- Do not wet mop your wood floor. Excessive water can dull the finish and leave a discoloring residue.
- Put felt glides under the legs of furniture to prevent scuffing and scratching.
- Place an area rug in front of the kitchen sink.
- To reduce wood movement and shrinkage, use a humidifier in the winter months.
- Dust mop, sweep, or vacuum regularly to maintain your wood floor. Clean periodically with manufacturer’s recommended cleaner.
- Avoid walking on your wood floor with high heels or cleats.
- When moving heavy furniture, do not slide it across the wood floor.
Pick up the furniture completely to protect the wood flooring.
